 The customs officials of the border crossing Blace, on Saturday (03 rd July) prevented an attempt for smuggling of about 1 kg of heroin.
At about 16.30 h, a bus with Macedonian license plates, owned by a company from Struga traveling en-route Pristina- Blace- Skopje- Struga, was declared for entrance in the country. The bus was driven by a person with initials I.E. from Skopje.
During the inspection of the interior of the bus, on the floor between seats no 39 and 40, the customs officials found 2 packets with unknown powder, weighing 1,015 grams.
The powder and the suspects were taken over by customs inspectors of the Investigation Department. Following the initial testing, when it was established that the powder is heroin, the substance was handed over for analysis to the Ministry of Interior – Crime Technique, whereby the initial suspicions were confirmed and it was established that the heroin weighed exactly 980 grams.
The suspects were interrogated and having established all the facts and collected evidence, criminal charges were brought against the suspects, one Macedonian citizen and the other citizen of Kosovo, who are charged with “Unlawful manufacture and release of narcotics, psychotropic substances and precursors”. |
