Last week during their regular controls at the border and inland customs offices, the customs officials prevented several attempts for import of undeclared and counterfeit goods.
The following undeclared goods were seized:
*At the border crossing Airport Skopje
- 1 antique pistol (museum value), found during the inspection of the luggage of a Turkish citizen, boarding a flight to Istanbul.
- 72 women’s tops, found during the inspection of the luggage of a Turkish citizen, who arrived in the country from Istanbul.
*At the border crossing Jazince - entrance
- 28 kg of animal bowels, found during a customs control of a car with Macedonian license plates, driven by a Macedonian citizen. The undeclared goods were concealed in the boot – spare tyre area.
- 1 Albanian passport, found during the inspection of a car with Macedonian license plates, driven by a Macedonian citizen. According to the official records, the holder of has a prohibition to enter Macedonia. The passport was handed over to the Ministry of Interior for further processing.
*Mobile Units
- 5.5м3 timber, found during a detailed inspection of a freight motor vehicle with license plates of Bosnia and Herzegovina, loaded with timber, declared for import clearance at the customs office Tetovo for a company importer from the village of Zelino, Macedonia.
*At the border crossing Blace - entrance
- 89 boxes of cigarettes Lucky Strike, found during the inspection of a car with Macedonian license platyes. The undeclared goods were concealed under the front seats and the floor mats of the vehicle.
- 22 textile articles (women’s trousers, skirts and dresses) found during the inspection of a car with Macedonian license plates, driven by a Macedonian citizen. The undeclared goods were concealed behind the front seats and in the boot of the car.
- 3,000 plastic lids, found during the inspection of an empty truck with Macedonian license plates driven by a Macedonian citizen. The lids were found in the cab on the upper bed.
*At the border crossing Bogorodica, the customs officials seized 76 textile articles (T-shirts, bathing suits, jeans, shorts, tops and dresses) found during detailed inspection of a car with Bulgarian license plates, driven by a Macedonian citizen, declared for entrance into the country. The undeclared goods were concealed between the personal belongings in two suitcases.
Besides t5he above-mentioned, on grounds of reasonable doubts that the goods are counterfeit, the following were seized:
- 826 football sets of shorts and shirts, bearing the logo of Adidas, found during a detailed inspection of a Turkish truck, driven by a Turkish citizen, declared for entrance at the border crossing Deve Bair. The vehicle was loaded with goods originating from Dubai, bound for Kosovo.
- 354 children’s T-shirts, bearing the logos of D&G и Armani, found during the detailed inspection of a truck with Macedonian license plates, loaded with goods originating in Turkey, declared for import clearance at the Customs Office Kumanovo.
Pursuant the provisions of the Law on IPR Protection, the Customs Administration will begin a procedure for verification of the authenticity of the seized goods.
