The regular customs controls, carried out at the inland and border customs offices resulted in detection and prevention of several attempts for entrance of undeclared and counterfeit goods.
The following undeclared goods have been seized:
*At the border crossing Blace – entrance in the country
- 70 pieces of medical materials (catheters and dialysis filters) found during the inspection of a car with German license plates, driven by a German citizen. The undeclared goods were found in the boot of the car.
- 31 pairs of women’s slippers, 8 women’s tracksuits and shorts, found during a control of a car with Macedonian license plates. The undeclared goods were hidden under the front seats, on the back seats and in the boot – the area for spare tyre.
*At the border crossing Airoprt Skopje - 1 set of Swiss license plates and a registration document, found during inspection of the luggage of a Macedonian citizen, who was leaving the country. The person had previously imported a passenger motor vehicle, but instead of taking it out of the country in the legally prescribed period, he used without performing the necessary customs formalities.
Besides the above-mentioned, due to reasonable doubts that the goods are counterfeit, the following were seized:
- 70 textile articles (T-shirts and dresses), bearing the logos of D&G, Armani, Prada, Playboy, Emilio Sergio and Umit and 84 cosmetic products (creams and eau de toilettes), bearing the marks of Cera di Kupra, Armani, Boss, Gucci and Versace. The goods were found during a thorough search of a car with British license plates, driven by a British citizen who arrived at entrance in the country at the border crossing Blace.
Pursuant the provisions of the Law on IPR Protection, the Customs Administration will initiate a procedure to establish the authenticity of the goods.
