  CLEARANCE OF CARS ON 31ST JULY 2010 AT CUSTOMS OFFICES SKOPJE 1, 2 AND 3
Concerning possibility for regulation of the status of the vehicles with foreign license plates in the Republic of Macedonia, yesterday, 28th July 2010, the Customs Administration published a reminder on its website that the provisions of the Rulebook for single approval of a vehicle (OG 16/2010), stipulating a possibility to register passenger vehicles which meet EURO 1 standard cease to be in force on 05th August 2010.

NOTIFICATION ON THE START OF DIAGONAL CUMULATION BETWEEN SERBIA AND TURKEY
The Customs Administration of the Republic of Macedonia, on basis of the received notification from the Customs Administration of the Republic of Serbia, hereby informs that as from 01st September 2010 all conditions for the application of diagonal cumulation between the Macedonia, Serbia Turkey have been met.

Bilateral meeting between the Customs Administrations of Mauritius and Macedonia
On 29th July 2010, the Director General of Mauritius Customs, Mr. Stephen Mendes paid a visit to the Macedonian Customs Administration. This visit follows after the signing of the Agreement on Cooperation between the two Customs Services and the World Customs Organisation Concerning the provision of Capacity Building expertise in the area of the development of a National Single Window in Mauritius, which took place in June this year.

TEMPORARY BAN FOR MOVEMENT OD HEAVY VEHICLES IN KOSOVO ABOLISHED
We hereby inform that the ban for movement of freight vehicles heavier than 12.5 tons between 10.00 – 18.00 h, due to possible damage of the roads on the territory of Kosovo has been abolished. As from 27th July 2010, all vehicles can freely move on the territory of Kosovo.

MIGRANT ON BOGORODICA
The customs officials of the Mobile X-Ray Scanner Unit, this morning at about 06.30, at the customs terminal of the Customs Office Bogorodica, detected a hidden man who was disoriented, starved and exhausted. The man, who crossed the border illegally, was found hidden between the parked trucks on the terminal.

NEW TRAFFIC REGIME IN KOSOVO
We hereby inform the public that due to the introduction of a new traffic regime by the Kosovo authorities, as from 21st July 2010 vehicle heavier than 12.5 tons will not be granted entrance on the territory of Kosovo within the period from 10.00h – 18.00 hours every day. The reason for this new regime, as we are informed is the possible damage to the roads as a result of the high temperatures in the summer period.

88 CARTONS OF CIGARETTES SEIZED
The customs officials of the border crossing Novo Selo, on Tuesday (20th July 2010) prevented an attempt for smuggling of 88 undeclared cartons (880 boxes) of LD –blue cigarettes with Macedonian banderoles.

DELAY IN THE OPERATIONS OF THE CUSTOMS OFFICES BLACE AND TETOVO
The Customs Administration hereby informs that today, 19th July 2010, due to failure of the computer system MAKCIS, there will be delays in the normal operations of the Customs Offices Blace and Tetovo. Teams of the Customs Administration are working on-site to remove the malfunctions.

AT TABANOVCE 41,600 CIGARILLOS SEIZED
On 12th July 2010, the customs officials of the Border Crossing Point Tabanovce - Motorway prevented an attempt for illicit introduction of 41,600 cigarillos without banderolles, found in a freight motor vehicle with Greek license plates transporting different goods, which was declared in a transit procedure. The vehicle was driven by a Greek citizen

BILATERAL MEETING OF THE DGs OF ITALIAN AND MACEDONIAN CUSTOMS
On 13th and 14th July, a delegation of the Italian Customs Agency, led by the Director General Mr. Giuseppe Peleggi paid a visit to the Macedonian Customs Administration. During the meeting with the Director General of the Macedonian Customs, Mr. Vanco Kargov, they discussed and reviewed several issues related to the intensive cooperation in the activities for fulfillment of the requirements for further modernization in order to meet the needs of the users and customs clients. Trade facilitation, fight against customs frauds, application of modern means and equipment in the daily operations are the future priorities for mutual cooperation.

CUSTOMS CLEARANCE OF PASSENGER VEHICLES
As from 13th March 2010, the Customs Administration of the Republic of Macedonia started with clearance of new and second-hand vehicles in conformity with the Amendments to the Customs Tariff Law and those to the Excise Law. Until today 12th July 2010 – 16.00h, procedures for import clearance of 26,887 new and second-hand vehicles have been initiated, while 26,693 vehicles have been cleared and released.
