Last week, the customs officers prevented several attempts for smuggling different goods, seizing cigarettes, foreign currencies and clothes.

The next goods are seized:

Cigarettes

- 9.600 pieces (48 boxes) of WINSTON, MARLBORO, CAMEL, LEADER BLUE, LEADER RED, GR, LM BLUE, LM WHITE and PRINCE cigarettes without excise stamps, discovered during control of a passenger motor vehicle with Macedonian license plates, driven by a Macedonian citizen, at the border crossing point Bogorodica – entrance section. The undeclared cigarettes were found in bags placed in the luggage. They were seized, and a misdemeanor procedure was initiated against the driver.

- 9.120 pieces (48 boxes) of BOSS cigarettes with Macedonian excise stamps, discovered at the International Airport Skopje, during fixed scanner inspection of the luggage of a Macedonian citizen, who was to fly to Malmo. The undeclared cigarettes were seized, and appropriate procedure will be initiated against the passenger

- 1.400 pieces (7 boxes) of OME, LM and KARELIA cigarettes, discovered during control of a van with Macedonian license plates, declared for entrance at the border crossing point Dojran. The undeclared cigarettes were found in a bag and belonged to a Greek national. They were seized and a misdemeanor procedure was initiated against the driver.

Foreign currencies:

- 6.700 Euros, discovered during control of a passenger motor vehicle with Macedonian license plates, driven by Macedonian citizen, travelling with another Macedonian citizen at the border crossing point Deve Bair – exit section. During personal search of the co-driver, in his front left tracksuit pocket, the customs officers found 8.700 euro. In accordance with the law, 2.000 Euros were returned to him, as an amount that can be freely taken out of the country. Appropriate procedure was initiated against the perpetrator.

Clothes

- 722 pieces of different clothes, discovered in three different cases during control of a passenger motor vehicle, declared for entrance in the country at the border crossing point Bogorodica.

In the first case, during control of a passenger motor vehicle with Bulgarian license plates, driven by a Macedonian citizen with Bulgarian passport, who was accompanied by another Macedonian citizen , in two suitcases and other bags placed on the floor in front of the backseats  and on the backseats, in front of the co-driver seat and in two bags placed in the boot of the vehicle, the customs officers found 329 pieces of clothes (trousers, jackets, shorts, men sets, tops, , t-shirts, jumpers and dresses). The undeclared clothes were seized, and a misdemeanor procedure was initiated against the perpetrator.

In the second case, during control of a vehicle with Macedonian license plates, driven by a Macedonian citizen, accompanying by another Macedonian citizen, in two suitcases placed in the boot and on the backseats in the vehicle, the customs officers found 322 pieces of clothes (underwear, blouses, swimsuits, t-shirts and trousers). The undeclared clothes were seized and a misdemeanor procedure was initiated against the perpetrator. 

In the third case, during control of a passenger motor vehicle with Macedonian license plates, driven by a Macedonian citizen, in two suitcases and plastic bags placed in the boot of the vehicle, the customs officers found 71 pieces of clothes (tracksuits, upper and bottom part of tracksuit, sports t-shirts, tights and blouses). The undeclared clothes were seized and a misdemeanor procedure was initiated against the driver. For 60 pieces of the seized clothes bearing marks of 3 protected brands, the Customs Administration initiated a procedure to establish their authenticity.     

- 608 pieces of different clothes (dresses, trousers, underwear, tights, socks, shirts and t-shirts), found during control of a passenger motor vehicle with Macedonian license plates, driven by a Macedonian citizen, declared for entrance in the country at the border crossing point Medjitlija. The undeclared clothes were found under the front and back seats, under the car mats, behind the back seats, covered with carpet, as well as in the boot of the vehicle.They were seized  and a  misdemeanor procedure was initiated against the driver.  

- 74 pieces of different sports wear (tracksuits, football shirts, shorts, t-shirts and raincoats), discovered by the mobile customs teams, during control of a motor vehicle with Swiss license plates, driven by a Macedonian citizen, declared for entrance in the country at the border crossing point Tabanovce Motorway. The undeclared goods were found in a suitcase and a paper bag placed in the boot of the vehicle and they were seized. Appropriate procedure will be initiated against the driver.
