Today, 28.05.2019, the Customs Administration of the Republic of North Macedonia marked the successful realization of the project "How to better understand the customs procedures", under which educational videos were produced presenting the basic and most important customs related topics in a simple and visual way.

On 22 and 23rd may 2019, the World Bank,the  IFC and the Ministry of Finance of Austria organized a regional workshop on trade facilitation and enhancement of the cooperation with the border agencies and the private sector.

The Customs Administration hereby informs that the new Customs Declarations and Excise Documents Processing System (CDEPS) will be released into operation on 1st June 2019. To ensure smooth release of the system into operation the economic operators must take certain activities, which were noted at the previously organized working meetings, primarily  in regard to access to the system and submission of requests for granting corresponding permits. Details concerning the manner of granting access to the CDEPS and the manner of obtaining all necessary permits and approvals are provided in the document attached to this notice. The Customs Administration adopted new Handbook for Authorized Economic Operators, which is the final stage of the process of harmonization with the customs legislation of the European Union in the area regulating the AEO status. By acquiring the status, the authorized economic operators have several advantages such as: reduced physical and documentary controls, priority when selected for control, possibility to choose the place for control, priority for decision making upon requests submitted to the Customs Administration, easier access to customs simplifications and possibility for mutual recognition of granted certificates in other countries.

Last week, the customs officers detected one attempt for illegal migration, as well as several attempts for smuggling various goods, seizing mobile phones, steam boilers motor fans, irrigation system parts, window blinds’ parts, lock cylinders, apparel and counterfeits.
